Angolan second satellite construction at 50%, expects launch in 2022

The Angolan government has announced that the construction of its second satellite, Angosat-2, is at 50 percent and it is aiming for a 2022 launch date, reports Lusa. This second satellite replaces the first, which was lost in space in 2017.

According to the Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology, Jose Carvalho da Rocha, the construction of Angosat-2 is taking place according to an additional protocol between Angola and Russia under the Angosat-1 manufacturing contract.
